Brown University Shooting Suspect Still at Large — New Videos Released, FBI Offers Reward

Providence, R.I. — Authorities have not yet identified or arrested the suspect in the deadly shooting at Brown University, even as the manhunt enters its fourth day and investigators released new video and images of a person of interest.

Police and federal agents are urging the public to help identify and locate the individual shown in the footage walking near the university campus shortly before the mass shooting that killed two students and injured nine others on December 13, 2025.

New Footage, New Leads

Officials shared multiple videos and clearer images on Monday showing the person of interest, described as a man approximately 5′8″ with a stocky build, walking near streets close to the Brown campus just hours before the attack.

The footage, released by the Providence Police Department and federal law enforcement, shows the man crossing streets and walking on sidewalks near residential areas, and authorities are asking anyone who recognizes him to come forward.

Reward Offered for Information

The FBI has posted a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.

“Asking for the public’s help increases our chances of finding the individual responsible for this tragedy,” law enforcement officials said. Investigators are also reviewing neighborhood surveillance footage and canvassing local areas for additional clues.

Previous Person of Interest Released

On Sunday, authorities released a man who had been detained as a person of interest, determining that there was insufficient evidence to hold him in connection with the shooting.

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha acknowledged the setback but emphasized that the investigation remains active and that law enforcement continues to pursue all leads.

Campus Remains on Alert

Although police have not re-imposed a shelter-in-place order, security presence around Brown University and the city of Providence has increased, and university officials canceled in-person exams for the remainder of the semester.

Community Reaction

The shooting has shaken students, families, and alumni, with many turning to social media and local forums to share concern — and frustration — about the lack of concrete information on the suspect’s identity.
